Description
I was unhappy with the stock bento box on my Canyon Speedmax CF SLX 8.0 SL (Size M), since I did not like the opening and it was always a bit too small. That’s why I designed this 3D-printed one with a magnetic hinged lid, which is easier to access in my opinion.
You need 12 magnets (3 mm diameter x 2 mm height), which you can fix in place with some glue. The hinges are made using two short strips of 1.75 mm filament, which you slide through the holes. If the holes are too small, use a drill bit to widen them.
I printed the box using PETG-CF and did a lot of sanding and spray-painting to get a smooth and aero surface. You will need some supports. I recommend normal supports for the box and tree supports for the lid, printed standing upright.
I used the original screws to fix the box in place. Don’t use too much torque with the screws, as this can lead to the walls of the box bending inwards. I also added 2 mm rubber washers between the box and the frame.
I designed the box for my specific frame, which is size M. I don’t know if it also fits the other frame sizes. If you try it, please let me know.
Two sizes are available: the regular size, matching the original bento box, and the long version, offering significantly more space.
