Cap for Trellis Wood Battens 47x23mm – Protective Cap with Clamping Ridges

This functional cap effectively protects the end grain of 47x23mm trellis wood battens from rain and moisture, drastically extending the material's lifespan. Optimized for garden and landscaping structures.

·         Inner dimensions: 50 x 25 mm
·         Total height: 21.4 mm
·         Wall thickness: 2.4 mm (Highly stable and durable)

Clamping mechanism: Internal ridges with a 22 mm inner gap ensure a secure fit.

Print Settings for Outdoor Use:

·         Material: PETG, ASA, or ABS (Due to high UV and weather resistance; PLA is not recommended for
          permanent outdoor use).
·         Perimeters (Wall lines): At least 3 to 4 walls to utilize the full stability of the 2.4 mm thickness
          without unnecessary infill.
·         Supports: None required. Place the model upside down (flat inner side on the print bed) before slicing.

I printed the caps with the following settings:
nozzle 0,4mm; layer height: 0,2mm; PETG (for higher temperature resistance) + Signal White (for better IR reflection) (I used Prusament Signal White).

I attached the end cap at the top with a dab of acrylic.

Druckempfehlungen für den Außenbereich:

• Material: PETG, ASA oder ABS (Wegen hoher UV- und Witterungsbeständigkeit; PLA wird für den dauerhaften Außeneinsatz nicht empfohlen).

• Wandlinien (Perimeter): Mindestens 3 bis 4 Reihen, um die volle Stabilität der 2,4 mm Wandstärke ohne unnötiges Infill zu nutzen.

Stützstrukturen: Nicht erforderlich (No Supports), da die Innenseite flach auf dem Druckbett aufliegen kann (Modell vor dem Slicen auf den Kopf stellen).

Ich habe die Kappen mit folgenden Einstellungen gedruckt:
nozzle 0,4mm; layer height: 0,2mm; PETG (für bessere Wärmebeständigkeit) + Signal White (für bessere Wärmereflexion) (Ich habe Prusament Signal White verwendet).

Ich habe die Endkappen oben mit einem Klecks Acryl befestigt.
