Description
With this holder your can attach a Waveshare e-ink (e-paper) display to your shoe because why not?(*) Attach the display to your kid's shoe (or your own) and immediately upload an image! The display is an e-paper (e-ink) which is well visible in bright daylight.
The holder is compatible with:
There are many vendors who sell these displays.
These displays don't need and have a battery and can be updated wirelessly by NFC using either Waveshare's NFC board or your phone. If you want to use your phone, check the compatibility on the Waveshare site! (My Samsung is not listed as compatible but still works.)
(*) "because why not?": The display is relatively sturdy and readable in broad daylight (its e-ink). That said, attaching any electronics to your shoe is a stupid idea in general: it can get wet, get scratched and may get lost. Use this holder only if you (or your kids) don't wear them in rough or wet environments.
Use PLA or better PETG with a layer height of 0.15mm.
Print this version upright, no supports required. Add a brim for improved bed adhesion.
Don't print this version standing upright! If you print it upright, the clip easily breaks due to the orientation of the layers.
Instead rotate it to the side and insert supports at the clip/holder and at the inside on the front. The supports are easy to remove after printing.
You can also just use the prepared 3mf project.
You can find the onshape project here.
