Description

There are a lot of cheap enlarging lenses that work quite well as taking lenses, and the Rodenstock Omegaron 135mm f/4.5 is one of the most appealing I've found. Even wide open, this designed-for-4x5 lens manages to give crisp details on my Sony A7CR's 60MP FF sensor. Bokeh are quite smooth and the OOF PSF keeps a circular shape as you stop down. However, this lens doesn't have any focusing mechanism...

The adapter here bayonet-mounts on any Minolta SR/MC/MD body-side mount and allows the Omegaron to be screwed into place. I used it to mount on a Minolta Bellows III. Of course, the body side of that bellows is also SR/MC/MD, so it gets mounted to my E/FE Sony bodies via an SR/MC/MD to E/FE adapter. Anyway, the lens works very well that way, giving good image quality while focusing from infinity to macro. It is particularly noteworthy that it doesn't vignette, avoiding a common problem with use of large-format lenses on E/FE bodies.

There are two pieces: body and alignment dot. The alignment dot isn't necessary, as the cavity for it in the body makes a good enough alignment mark for SR/MC/MD mounting. On the other hand, if you have a multi-color printer, why not print the dot in a second color? The print shown was made using matte black PLA and copper silk PLA on an Anycubic Kobra X.
