Description
This is a series of holders for the Build Plate Cleaner Microfiber Holder by K-Studio.ca .
There are four variations, two using these 25x5x3mm magnets, with one model having captive magnets and one exposed. Another variant has a plain back, and another with a shallow recess to help hide a 3M strip, though I could have been more aggressive with the recess.
The recesses for the magnets are rather loose, so even if the current LOVIMAG magnets are not available, others listed as the the same dimensions should fit.
IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE THE CAPTIVE MAGNET FILE, MAKE SURE YOU GLUE IN THE MAGNETS BEFORE RESUMING THE PRINT.
This was my very first design with captive magnets, and I'm proud at how well it works; the magnets are more than strong enough to adhere to the outside of my Tenlog TL-D3.
None of these need supports.
The only particular print instructions are for the captive-magnet version.
Use this version at your own risk, especially if you are using a steel-nozzle, as the magnets will want to pull away towards your nozzle.
Insert a pause at the vary top layer of the print, ensuring that the very next layer is the layer where the print bridges over the top of the magnet.
When the print reaches this point and the printer pauses:
Apply a little superglue into the hole and on the end of the magnet, enough to hold it in place.
Insert the magnet. Ensure that it is flush or below the top edge of the print. I designed it to have a little extra tolerance for the glue and to easily slide in.
WAIT FOR THE SUPERGLUE TO CURE.
After you are confident that the glue is dry, which will depend on your glue, resume the print to allow it to finish.
