Description
Tube storage for magnets of various diameters.
Two lengths provided - 6.5cm tall tubes with capacity to hold 4.5cm of magnets, and 13cm tall tubes with capacity to hold 11cm of magnets. I specifically chose these two sizes because they fit into my storage box. But you can also edit the attached model in Fusion 360 and create your own sizes and lengths and wall thicknesses.
Each cap has a slot on its top to fit one magnet. You can use it to separate magnets from each other. This is usefull especially for the slim magnets, they are difficult to separate just by hand - just insert a stack of magnets into the slot and then slide the stack to a side, leaving one magnet in the slot.
A pin hole is located at the bottom of each tube in case something gets stuck inside.
All sizes and tolerances tested with Prusament PETG and Polylite PETG.
Use at least 3 perimeters and increase infill, especially for the caps.
At first I thought I would create a single fully parametric model, but turns out that making threads parametric is rather a pain. I gave up on parametric threads, at least for now. So I ended up with a set of tubes for various magnet diameters. Which as it turns out already exist here: https://www.printables.com/model/1160676-safe-magnet-storage. Well it is not easy to come up with an original idea.
