Description
I designed this to have a simple way to attach my Tentacle sync boxes to a camera cage with a 1/4" cap screw. Every variant of this model should print without supports, standing up on its end the same way it's oriented in the STEP file.
To install it you just run a 1/4" cap screw through the counterbored hole in the base right into your camera cage. The clamping arm on the top has a hole in it that you can fit a hex wrench through to tighten the screw. Once installed, the tentacle sync should slide in and lock into place with the small protrusion in the front of the mount that interfaces with the groove on the bottom of the Tentacle box. Between that and the force of the flexible clamping arm, it should be very secure. In fact I've found I generally need to pull up a little on the arm to slide it out. The locking ridge only covers the outside of the box, and leaves room for the cable clip if you use them.
There are five variants of the model. The base version just has the single screw hole to secure the mount. The other four each have a nub positioned 9mm on center away from the screw hole in either horizontal or vertical alignment. You can use these as an anti-twist protection if there's a 1/4" or 3/8" hole adjacent to the hole you're mounting on.
I've included the FCstd file that you can use to edit the design in FreeCAD. I didn't particularly adhere to best practices or make this parametric in any way, but it shouldn't be too messy if you want to tweak some things
