Description
There were a lot of knob designs for MK3 and 4, and many other brands' printers. I was wondering why there weren't many for Core One until I started designing it myself... Turns out the door didn't leave much clearance, and most old designs won't work anymore...
Initially, I thought about making the wheel smaller, but that resulted in very fragile spokes. So I moved the wheel and the spokes down, while keeping the hub protruding to house the internal structure of the knob. Thanks to Prusa for providing the printer's CAD files, which allowed me to verify clearance while designing.
Ship's wheel design inspired by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:647019, but I modeled everything from scratch.
Print in the current orientation. No AMS required. Colour changes at different heights if you want some accents. 0.15 mm resolution seems sufficient. Ironing on all top surfaces recommended. Be sure to remove all the support material inside. Otherwise, you might not be able to push it all the way in, causing a collision with the door.
P.S. Colour change is not ideal on Core One. After filament change and purging, when the nozzle moves back to the object, it will purge a bit more filament, which may ruin some fine details in the next layer. I disabled the door sensor, and used twizzers to grab the small piece of filament right before the nozzle touches the object. It's tricky, but it works.
Colours I used: Sunlu PLA, Black - Coffee brown - Gold - Coffee Brown - Gold
