Description

Modular door wind stopper that can be installed with double sided tape like 3M. This was designed for being printed with TPU, but it can be printed with any other material.

I've prepared stl files for modules that are 20cm, 15cm, 10cm and 5cm long, but I suggest you to scale them to match your needs.

Printing configuration

The .3mf project has already a configuration set for TPU, but in case you wish to manage the .stl files on your own:

  • Print the modules standing on their sides so you don't need any supports. Make sure that the side that is not going to be visible is touching the bed, that way you won't have to worry that much about the skirt.

  • Brim type: outer brim only

  • Brim width: 10mm

  • For TPU only:

    • Brim object gap: 0.1mm

    • Enable "Avoid crossing walls"

    • As you might know, TPU is very prone to stringing. To avoid any angel hairs, print one module at once

How to assemble it after printing

  1. Measure your door's width and print as many modules you need. Make sure to scale them to fit your needs.

  2. (Optional) Glue them altogether for concealing the seams. If you don't care about it at all, skip this step.

  3. Put a piece of double sided tape across the back of all the modules if you want to install it as a single piece, or just put a strip for every single module if you'd rather install each module separately.

  4. Put a stack of a few papers under your door, around 1 or 2mm thick (very important if you haven't printed with flexible materials) and attach the wind stopper to the door.
