Description
This is a IGUS Drylin linear rail upgrade for Prusa MK3S+/MK4
You will need those IGUS parts:
2x TS-04-12 330mm
https://www.igus.eu/product/730?artNr=TS-04-12
3x TWE-04-12
https://www.igus.eu/product/931?artNr=TWE-04-12
Screw and Bolts
You will need M3 Bolts (preferably with nylon), the same amount as T-Nut's you will use.
10x M3 12mm screws for Rear mount (4) and TWE-04-12 (6).
6x M3 16mm screws for the Rail.
The big version needs 8 more of the M3 12mm screws
3D printed Parts
You can print one of the kit's, or print the parts individual.
You will need:
2x Fronts
Both Rear (They are not the same STL, so you will need to print both)
18x M3 T-Nut for big version with middle part
or
10x M3 T-Nut for lite version with middle part
Optional:
2x Middle, if you like a better support for the rail. Not need, but a great add-on :)
The difference between the normal version and lite is, the normal have 3 screws per front and middle part (one per side and 1 on top), and lite have only 1 screw (one on top).
Big (Op to 3 screws per part)
Lite (Only 1 screw) - I used this version my self :)
Remember to print the parts before disassemble your printer ;)
Assemble
Remove the bed and the “old” Smooth rod and bearing.
Add both rear support.
Add the IGUS TWE-04-12 to the rails.
Place the Front and middle support under the rail, put a screw through the rail and support, and loosely screw a T-Nut on the screw.
Place the rails and mounts on the printer as shown in the picture.
The T-Nut needs to go inside of the 3030 bar of the printer.
Add a screw through the rail in the rear and add a T-Nut below it.
Now tighten down all the screws in the rail.
Importen - If you can lift the rail in the front or middle, the T-Nut did not turn in the right position when it was tighten down. Loosen the screw till it fills loose, then tight down the screw again.
Now screw the carriage on to the TWE-04-12.
The right don't matter what 2 holes you use.
The left, make sure the TWE-04-12 is as close to each other as possible.
Now just add the print bed again. :)
Happy printing :D
