Mill or Grafting Knife Handle

I wanted a knife handle that'd work OK for a 3/4" mill blade "blank" such as the ones from Hyde tools. This is a work in progress, so beware. I plan on iterating over this design a bit as I see any shortcomings play out while I graft things with it, after profiling the dull side of my Hyde blank to a 20 degree single bevel edge.

I plan on using a slow-setting epoxy to set the blade in the handle. Keep in mind that you may need to scale up a part by an additional small % in order to account for shrinkage and the knife blade fit depending on your print settings. I made several handle variants depending on what kind of blade you have and handle for it that is needed - you can:

-Print parts A+B and epoxy it all together with the blade in, clamp it all down tightly and let it cure together for a while

OR

-Print part "D" solo and stick the blade into the handle with epoxy already inside the part, and then let it cure together for a while. You will probably need to scale up part D by an additional small % in order to account for shrinkage depending on the handle material you use and your printer settings. It's a bit easier to slide the blade into the handle while the part is still warm and hasn't contracted from cooling

OR

-Print part "E" solo WITH SUPPORTS (since it is a rounded handle on both sides), lightly sand where the supports were detached, stick the blade into the handle with epoxy already inside the part, and then let it cure together for a while. You will probably need to scale up part E by an additional small % in order to account for shrinkage depending on the handle material you use and your printer settings. It's a bit easier to slide the blade into the handle while the part is still warm and hasn't contracted from cooling
