Description
I recently built a slab flattening sled and wanted to add a bit of dust collection. The model from @Steffanan was a good start but unfortunately it doesn't fit my setup. Thankfully, I could use the provided .step file to get some initial measurements to make my own part (see more on CAD below).
Should work fine printed in PLA or PETG. I printed mine in some random PLA I was trying to use up.
Start with the 0.2mm Structural preset in PrusaSlicer.
You'll need to enable supports. My settings were:
Supports on build plate only
Style: Organic
From there, I just used "automatic painting" in PrusaSlicer.
Attach it to the base with M5 screws at least 10mm long.
As with most of my models, you can find the source here at Onshape. Feel free to remix following the CC license.
The Festool hose adapter is derived from another design of mine, available here at Onshape. You can find other parts using this and other adapters (along with useful models by other designers) in my Tool Adapters collection.
If you're interested in the flattening sled, I based my design on this youtube video. I have access to a CNC so I used that to precisely cut the acrylic. If you're interested in making one for yourself, you can find the parts list in the video's description, and can export a DXF from here.
