Cheap & durable cymbal accessories
At semi-professional concerts, the drummers of different bands often share a basic drum kit, but bring their own precious cymbals. Mounting these onto an unknown drum kit can be tricky because of different screw diameters, worn-down or missing felt cushions or broken plastic sockets. Well, at least where I'm usually playing... So I made my own set of essential cymbal fixtures from TPU.
I lasercut some rings (D1=45mm, D2=12mm) from an old painter's carpet I had lying around (but you can use anything soft, really) and stacked them onto a printed socket to form a felt cushion for the cymbal to sit on. Put more rings and a cap on top and tightened all down with the 'GigNut' - a M6/M8 combo nut that can easily be fastened/released with a finger (really, it's so much better than a wingnut).
I strongly recommend to print these parts from TPU 95A as they become nearly indestructible. Print one by one to avoid stringing. Avoid travel moves that cross internal holes when printing the GigNut. I printed a translucent nut with 0% Infill and 3 walls.
