Description
OK, Here's another one you don't have: The Klaestron phaser as seen in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, S1E7 "Dax." This prop was never given a real name and is often called the Trill phaser, but it was only used against Trill, not by Trill. The Klaestrons snuck aboard the station and tried to kidnap Dax to bring her to trial for a murder her symbiont, Curzon, was a part of in a prior host.
This is a tiny little phaser, just 152mm (6in) long and 22mm (7/8in) wide and would probably be perfect for clandestine operations, except it has triggers and buttons all over it, yet is one of the few Star Trek pistol phasers with a trigger guard.
I made this as close to accurate to the images I had access to, and I think came out pretty screen accurate. I don't like doing a split design like this because it always leaves an ugly seam down the middle. I tried to hide the seam with greebles. No greebles on the top, so . . .
The parts are laid out as I printed them. I used supports on the forward trigger and the frame halves. The supports are small you might not need them.
It's designed for a non-MMU printer and the color swaps are easy. In addition to the tag, the series and episode is identified on the bottom of the base.
I included the phaser as a solid .STL for people who like to make scale models.
I have included the Fusion360 file, but I am such a sloppy designer it'll probably just cause confusion.
As always, in the spirit of Star Trek, this model is provided free of cost and licensing.
