Description
Recently found my old iBook G4 but it had no rubber feet left on the computer and wasn't very stable on my desk. The battery still had its rubber foot which probably wasn't helping. I did look into buying more but the price looked a bit much to be spending on something this old. Took measurements and threw together a simple model in freecad then printed out in TPU, only had white but if you have a better match to any remaining feet use that.
They are tricky to fit, but not impossible, the metal foot surround has three small teeth spaced at 60 degrees around the bottom. To fit the feet wedge them as far down as you can at an angle into two of them, then use a small screwdriver or tweezers to push the foot towards the centre and under the third tooth. Once its in place the foot should be held firmly and not come out easily when bumped sideways. The bottom should also be parallel to the bottom of the laptop. I've added a picture of one of mine for reference.
I'm including two STLs, one with a completely flat bottom and one with a slight chamfer to make it look better, I printed mine with the straight bottom but feel free to use whichever you like. I also printed with 15% infill and two walls, it might be easier to fit with a modifier for using a single wall and less infill in the upper part of the foot that goes into the metal ring.
I'm also releasing this as public domain, so do what ever you like with it, probably isn't a big market for these any more as the iBook is about 20 years old now.
