Description
Unfortunately, both mounting screws on my (Selle Royal) “Hora” saddle—the ones that pass through the shock absorbers—had snapped off inside the screw shaft. This was likely because this saddle isn’t designed to withstand the upward force exerted on it when you lift the bike by the saddle. The rest of this otherwise comfortable saddle, however, was still of excellent quality. One of the shock absorbers had already fallen off along the way, but fortunately I was able to salvage one to serve as a model for a redesign.
I replicated it and 3D-printed a left and right version, which I simply secured with a few screws. Printed in TPU, these shock absorbers have virtually the same properties as the originals, and hopefully my saddle will last a while longer.
