Description
I really like the Thin Magnetic Top Cover Frame for Core One. Nonetheless, I wanted to have a hinge and share it here. Please refer to the original model for assembly instructions of the frame.
Additional hardware needed:
M3x8 screw - 6 pcs
M3x30 screw - 2 pcs
M3 lock nut - 4pcs - Use the lock nuts to
mount the body hinge to the steel sheet
connect the two hinges with the M3x30 screws (put the lock nuts into the recesses in the body hinge)
M3 square nut 5.5 x 5.5 x 1.8 - 4pcs - Use the square nuts to
mount the frame hinge to the frame
mount the handles to the frame
The square nuts are the ones that come with the Core One kit. I just used the spare parts. You can also source them at a hardware store. To make the square nuts fit flush into the frame I had to modify the frame and slightly enlarge the recesses for the rivets. Furthermore, I had to move the rivet holes by 0.5mm to fit the Core One's hole distance of 210mm to prevent the hinge from bending the corners of the cover upwards.
Print in PETG:
1 x body hinge
1 x frame hinge
2 x handle
4 x frame mod
Print settings:
0.2mm layers
4 perimeters
15% infill gyroid or rectilinear
Support on buildplate (just for the screw holes in the frame hinge and handles)
The vent handle in the pictures is this model:
