Description
A simple model that enabled me at add a cheap barrel jack adapter to my KEKK K7 super capacitor spot welder for charging.
I needed this as a way to conveniently charge the capacitors after accidentally destroying the internal USB-C charging circuit by spot welding while it was charging. (heavy sigh) The directions told me not to, but "Oops Happens" and fortunately KEKK already thought about idiots like me and included a couple of solder pads on their board for charging the super capacitor bank.
Soldering a pair of 18ga wires to the auxiliary capacitor charging points on the board, I routed them around the sides and up to the barrel adapter contacts, just to keep this modification fully reversible.
The power supply used, is a cheap 5.2v-2amp "wall wart" power adapter to charge the super capacitors between welding setups. This wall wart measures 5.18v open circuit with my multi-meter, and charges the system up to 5.18v in only a few minutes.
Mine is printed with no supports and default settings from cheap black PLA.
Removing the two M3-8mm screws and replacing them with a pair of M3-12mm screws worked great to mount this on the spot welder.
The barrel jack adapter is held in by friction but could be glued if it works loose.
