Description
Stackable storage boxes for 2,5inch and 3,5inch harddrives and SSD's.
These boxes have a groove on the bottom that locks into the top of another of these boxes.
Drives go in sideways to increase the bottom surface area so they are more stable and can stack higher.
The tops of the drive slots have finger cutouts to more easily take drives from the box.
The 2.5inch drive version takes 26 drives up to 9.5mm thick, which is the most common maximum thickness for these drives. SSD's are usually only 7mm thick and thus will also fit.
The 3.5inch drive version takes 10 drives up to 26.11mm thick, which is again the most common maximum thickness for this type of drive. This should fit thick bois like the Exos X16 (this one's for you, Datahoarder crowd!)
Material choice is up to you, PLA will work fine for these boxes.
I would advise to print with at least 1mm thick top/bottom/walls. This will cause the print to be nearly solid.
Printing shouldn't require supports. The overhangs inside the bottom groove are small enough that most printers will just print this without issue.
You will need a pretty big printer for these, as they are 302mm (2,5inch version) or 293mm (3.5inch version) long.
In the pictures you'll see text and logos on my prints. The box models are blank, but you can add your own text to them using Tinkercad.
If you'd like to support me, buy me a beer/coffee/etc, these models can also be purchased open-priced over at Cults3D.
