Description
A Luna moth (Actias luna) as a flat silhouette earring charm, printed in
one piece on the bed — no supports, no multi-material needed.
~34 mm wingspan, ~40 mm tall including the long swallowtail tails
- Broad swept forewings + the signature curling hindwing tails
- Four eyespot through-holes (one per wing) — read as the moth's spots
and lighten the charm for wear
- Tapered antennae and an integrated bail loop (Ø2.2 hole) at the top
for a jump ring
- Prints FLAT, face up, support-free — the whole shape is a single
linear-extruded silhouette
Files:
luna_moth_earring.stl— ready to slice and print
- luna_moth_earring.scad— fully parametric source: overall scale,
thickness, eyespot size, bail hole, antennae toggle, and a part
switch for a single earring, a mirrored L+R pair, or the flat 2D
outline
Print:
Flat on the bed, no supports, 0.12–0.2 mm layers, 3 walls
- PLA or PETG; brim recommended for the thin tails' small footprint
- The shape is symmetric — print twice for a matched pair
- Add a jump ring + ear hook (hang from the metal ring, not directly
from the ear wire)
Photos: printed in a copper/pink PLA.
