Description
This model lets you store your bike against a wall. One tire is held in place by a bolt that is retained by magnets. The model is fully parametric. You can customize the width and the height of your tire and rim section to fit basically any tire. The magnet size can also be customized, however the upper limit is 10x5mm which is a very strong fit and I cant imagine the bolt coming loose unless there is a major catastrophe.
The model uses the same base as my friction fit model so you can easily exchange the holder if you have multiple bikes or tires you want to store in the same location.
You need Fusion to modify the design. For non commercial use it is free to use but you need to register an account. After you installed Fusion and opened the .f3d file go to "Modify" --> "Change Parameters":
Input your widest point of your tire or rim and the height of your tire and rim combined into the expression field. There is some tolerance built into the model but if you are not sure that your measurements a exact add a few mm to the input.
You can also change the dimensions for your magnets. 10x5mm is the maximum that will fit and provides a very secure fit in order to prevent the locking bolt coming loose.
Hit OK and after a short calculation the model will adjust. You can then go ahead and export the model as STL or STEP and print it.
NOTE the actual part that is attached to the wall is not included in the Fusion file since it is static and a reuse from my other friction fit model. You can find the Wall_Mount.stl in this upload or in the Fusion file of my other model.
