Description
My hybrid cage fogs up a lot, I wanted an easy way to remove my cage on the bench so I can wipe it off without having to remove my helmet. Originally I tried with magnets, and the attachment was really nice, but the magnets I had weren't strong enough. This version uses a simple dovetail joint to lock the top in place, and after securing the side snaps of my cage it feels just as secure is if I used the normal screw in clips.
I modeled the visor clip so that it would print flat, and soaked the arms in a bit of hot water to soften and wrap them around the cage. This is much stronger than any other design I tried.
The cage I use is a senior Ronin MK5-X Hybrid Full Face Mask, though the attachment should allow for any cage to be used.
My helmet is a senior medium demo unit of the custom MyBauer Reakt line. The front mounting holes are 41 mm apart, which is what I modeled the helmet clip to use. If your front mounting holes are closer or further apart the helmet clip will have to be reworked. Ive included the Fusion 360 files for anyone that wants to alter it.
I printed this in PLA, but will probably print the next set in PETG if this one breaks. You should probably just print this in PETG. You do you though...
