Description
This 3d printable Protein-DNA complex represents a helicase in action.
The model was derived from the molecular structure and adapted to ALLOW PRINTABILITY and structural stability. The protein is displayed as a molecular surface, while the nucleic acids are displayed as spheres to clearly show their position within the complex and their interaction with the protein.
The helicase–DNA complex is a molecular machine responsible for separating the two strands of the DNA double helix. The helicase enzyme uses energy from ATP hydrolysis to unwind DNA and create single-stranded regions required for replication and repair processes.

Protein: blue
DNA: white
Print information:
after printing all parts ; place one of the DNA parts in "helicase half1" and close it up with "helicase half 2" and use super glue to assemble the two halves. It won't work the other way around. I welded all 3 DNA parts together with a lighter because I think it looks better that way. This is optional though.
Supports required: Yes !!! Organic!!!
Layer height: min. 0.2 mm recommended for nice quality
Print scale: mind. 100% recommended; the more the better
Filament type: PLA
Infill percentage: 5%
Perimeters: 2
USE organic supports !!! --> won't work otherwise
Place least important surface on the build plate and surfaces you want to see oriented upwards for a nice look. Or even better use my .3mf file or my codes.
