6.5mm rope splicing fid

A fid intended for splicing 3/16 - 1/4" (4.7 - 6.3mm) synthetic winch cable.  Buttress supports are included for a vertical print orientation. No additional supports are needed.  Overall length is about 140mm.   The fid is hollow for approximately 100mm.  The internal volume terminates in a cone shape similar to the exterior.

Printing with a wide brim is suggested for better stability.  I specified 4 walls & 49% infill.  Post processing should include trimming off the buttress supports, filing or sanding off the nubs and overall sanding for a smooth finish.

A 5mm hex driver makes a good support for sanding.
