Description

This is also a good clearance / calibration test for your printer. It works only, if your printer can print accurately small parts.

The needed clearance is 0.1mm!

Please use other strain relief designs if you don't have a well calibrated or do not want to / can not properly calibrate your printer!

...But maybe you give it a try, it takes 30-40 minutes to print and uses about 8 gr of filament...

A simple cable strain relief, that can be added to the Sidewinder X1 without having to get the cable out of the connector (could make cable's and connector's life longer...).

Simply unscrew the two screws holding the extruder cover, put left and right part on place and slide them into each other, put the twoneeded M3x40 screws, incl. washers [UPDATE: A user stated out in the comments, that in the newer versions of the X1 something has changed and M3x20 + washers have to be used; check it out!] (but without screwing them tight yet). Then adjust the position of the strain relief to catch the cable but not bend it. Normally, if the screws are in the middle position, the cable is / goes straight out of the connector but you can also adjust it if needed. Tighten the screws again.

Maybe you want also to put some duct or electrical tape on the surface where the cable has contact with the strain relief.

Attached is also the FreeCad 0.18 file.

The clearance at the sliding parts is 0.1mm. *You may have to calibrate your extruderand* your filament (extrusion multiplier):** https://mattshub.com/2017/04/19/extruder-calibration/

Better if printed with 4 perimeters!

Small update (request): v2 has screw slots that are 1mm wider on the left side.
