Description
I created a buck-converter mount for the bear upgrade frame which can be mounted with M3 screws. This step was needed since i did a bear upgrade on my i3 which now is running klipper and requires a rpi which needs to be powered with 5v.
Of course it is possible to add the dc converter to the mcu case but then this grows bigger and bigger. As a result i designed a case which can be easily mounted on the backside of the printer.
It is designed for a standard DC Converter with voltage display → see https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07VWHRW34/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It can hold an 30x30x10mm 5v fan (the pi fan) for a sufficient cooling → see https://www.amazon.de/GeeekPi-Raspberry-Brushless-K%C3%BChlk%C3%B6rper-retroflag/dp/B07FVR3TB8?th=1
Resolution: 0.2
Infill: 25
Filament: PETG
After printed all three parts you need to glue the mounting-plate on the bottom of the case (i used some superglue here). Make sure the backplate is aligned correctly.
I splitted the case so that it can be printed without supports.
Afterwards insert some threaded m3 inserts into the 8 bigger holes of the case:
Next you can attach the converter and fix it with 4 m3 screws (M3x8 should be sufficient).
Now you can mount the case on your frame using 4 m3 flathead screws (M3x12 should work, otherwise use a shorter length)
Tip: I used some printed T-Nuts which can be applied after the frame is fully assembled. You can find them here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3050607
Optional: Attach the 30x30x10 5v fan to the lid. Then plug it into the output of the dc converter (this can be a bit fiddly!!!) Take your time here and make sure that the connections are solid → I also used some drops of hot-glue here to hold it in place.
