Description
Since there are now tons of face shield clones at thingiverse I decided to design a face shield band which allows a comfortable wearing of the no clamping versions like the very popular Prusa RC3.
The belt should fit even lager heads up to approx. 63cm circumference.
If you are using the band on an Prusa RC3 it will allow a head circumference up to 65cm. It also will lock to the rubber attachment bracket and will prevent the band from disconnecting when not wearing the face shield.
I also included the FreeCAD Model if you want to change something to the design to fit better your face shield design of choice.
Since I got multiple requests from people not having TPU at hand, I now included the design for a PLA/PETG version fitting perfectly on the Prusa RC3 (see picture: green band). There I had to reduce the nub diameter and increase the hole to attach it to the Prusa RC3 due to the almost no flex of PLA/PETG.
But be aware: THE PETG and PLA prints are not comfortable and only not thought to be worn the whole day. They were just designed upon community request. I recommend it only as back-up.
To assemble I highly recommend to warm up the end before attaching it to the FaceShield. While testing especially PLA tended to break.
I also improved the regular TPU versions slightly to v2.
