Tab Can Opener - tab lift and lid pull support

I found some tab can openers, but most of them are only designed to lift the tab, which is fine for soda cans, but if you want to peel off the lid, I only found hook-like stuff which still need a lot of force.

I was designing this for my mum which has major issues with their hands and she is perfectly fine now opening even bigger food cans which peel off lids.

The opener is supporting the two steps to open up the can.

  1. Lift the tab to penetrate the edge of the lid (hard on your fingernails)
  2. Peeling of the lid using the tab, which normally needs a lot of force for the first part

Depending on the size of the can, it even locks on the rim of the can for easier peeling.

Printing:

I included two models: 3. Is including small support to stabilize the bracket for the tab lifing 4. Without support if you have a good printer covering the hanging surface

Post-Printing =============

Clearing the bracket of excess material

For both models, you can use a sharp scalpel to cut out the excess material or an old can lid, heat up the tab part and melt the bracket to size.
As always it comes with a FreeCAD model if you want to do your own customizing.
