Description
This is a rendition of the Doctor's TARDIS interior roundel wall pattern. I needed something to put behind my display of Doctor Who items, and needed it to be modular for the size of my shelving.
This print includes a hexagonal base with the middle empty, and a separate roundel piece to slot into the center. Clips are used to hold each hexagonal piece together, edge-to-edge. One of the hexagonal bases includes a simple hanger at the top corner to allow it to hang from a standard wall screw. The non-hanger version includes a small triangle in the upper corner to help keep the same orientation of each piece. That shouldn't be necessary, but sometimes printers leave a pattern on the top layer that's noticeable if a piece is rotated a different way.
All of the parts can be printed without supports or rafts. Printed at 100% size the clips and roundel should friction-fit together well enough to not require any glue.
I printed the hexagonal bases and clips in white PLA Pro/Plus, and the interior roundels in natural/clear PLA and PLA Pro/Plus. That should also allow some backlighting to be used to make the roundels glow if needed.
