Description
I wanted to add a remote for the Canon EOS-M (the original one), which only provides IR remote capability.
The electronic was straightforward. For the 3D print I had to model a support that can be fit on the camera without screws and without modifying the camera itself.
The current model keeps every button accessible and functional, including microphones.
The model you can see on the photo has an additional support for a 5mm IR LED to remote trigger the camera. The support is available in the OpenSCAD file, just commented out.
Fully manual
I measured everything with calipers, and made a dozen iteration print for the details. It's a clean-room reverse engineering of the camera important physical feature. Nothing than the actual camera and a quality calipers was used.
