Description
I'm using a small, weather-proof enclosure that contains a Raspberry Pi and a camera (Arducam's new 16MP AF model) to take time-lapse photos of an outdoor project over a long period of time (several weeks).
While testing my setup, I realized that my enclosure couldn't be completely airtight because a) the humidity would condensate inside, and 2) the temperature inside would get too high.
So, I created this model, a small vent, aka Breather Tube, that will hopefully provide enough airflow that my Pi won't overheat (and minimize condensation inside), but not enough of an opening that bugs and weather can get in. I'm hoping that this will suffice as we don't get sideways rain very often. 🤪
The design was created in Fusion 360 as a practice project, and was designed to not need any supports.
Requires 25mm (15/16") hole in enclosure wall.
Printed in PETG so it will hopefully fare well outdoors.
Fusion 3D project included for your tinkering pleasure. Just adjust the parameters to lengthen the tube or change the diameter.
Note: The User Parameter “Shaft Diameter” is overridden by the selected thread size. To change the diameter, you'll need to change the Size under the Thread feature(s).
