Large spinning top

May 8, 2022
Description
Printing
No special settings needed. I used 10% grid infill for the body and 20% for the other parts.
Both versions
Print the handle you prefer and all other parts from the Shared parts folder
Patterned
Print all parts from the Patterned folder
Beaded
I have included two versions of the beads, one larger and one flat. The larger one increases the air resistance which reduces the spinning time a bit (not much but noticeable).
Print the body and your preference of beads from the Beaded folder
Lubrication
To increase performance and lifetime you should lubricate the threads of the screw and driver parts with silicone spray or other suitable (non greasy) lubricant
Assembly
Glue the beads/pattern parts to the specified places on the body and let the glue dry before continuing.
- Push the screw through the body from the bottom and screw on the bottom_tip.
- Put the driver on the screw
- Screw on the top_plug
- Press the handle on to the screw, it might take some force, and it will snap in place
