Description
The nozzle of the MK3S lives in the shadows. Even the brightest light from above doesn't light up the space underneath the extruder. Having a light beside the nozzle gives you a better sight of even the first layer.
This one is for the original Prusa configuration of the MK3S+ (perhaps also the older models, but I don't own any of them).
It is mounted underneath the noctua 40x40 hotend fan with the original screws. Depending on the condition of the holes in the extruder (no nuts are inserted for these screws), 2 mm longer screws might also be necessary.
The rear end is raised so as not to collide with the heating bed connection, when calibrating or printing large parts. There is also a second part (sup) which can be used to fill the gap between the extruderend the optional mounting hole nearby the cable routing.
For mounting instruction see the pictures - it's easy.
Additional parts you need to make it work:
The pictures show my first prototype which was very simple, unstable, to high mounted, … in simple words a nice try, but nothing more. You see, that I had even to modify the fan to fit into.
The provided parts are the last evolution, which I used before smithed to another nozzle fan shroud and have to develop the next one here.
Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of it in live operation. But be promised it it much better than the pictures.
I recommend PETG, because it is near to the hotend and even the LEDs heat it up enough to make PLA weak.
The 3mf file is ready to print and as you see has even some painted support underneath only the really necessary parts
