Description
Remix of sirhc's case found on Thingiverse here. This is optimized for mounting on the side of your printer, either on a 2020 or 4040 extrusion.
M3 screws are used to join the two case halves. The mount installs to the lower half using an M4 screw with a nut on the other side (nylon locknut recommended). There is a centering standoff on the mount, which engages the larger hole on the case, so it is fixed more rigidly.
The mount is then attached to the host via M3 screws and matching T-nuts.
The fan (basic Pi fan, 30mm) mounts on the outside of the case, otherwise it will clash with the ethernet jack on the board. Use the hardware included with the fan, recommend having the nuts on the outside so the excess length doesn't protrude inside.
Print settings:
Tree supports recommended.
0.5mm line width suggested.
3 perimeters, 20% infill worked fine for me.
PETG or better recommended in case your unit gets hot.
