Description
In order to make a two-part mold in green sand for metal casting, it is easiest to print a pattern in two pieces so it can lay flat and the sand can pack around it uniformly.
This cross-pein hammer has been on my to-do list for a year now, and I finally got it modeled up Fusion 360, sliced in Cura 5, and printed on my Ender 3 V2.
It also prints a couple plastic “dowels” for registering and pinning the two parts together once the first half of the mold has been packed.
You will also need to eventually make a sand core for the area where the handle hole is ("Eye"), but for an initial pour, you can just try and ram some green sand in there and mill out the rough parts later.
