Description

Helping hands. Creepy helping hands to be more precise. Hangers for all kind of stuff that probably would lie around on your floor, causing you to trip over with accidents and so on... It's very practical. Very original. Introduces some human, yet eerie vibes into any room.

All thanks to Mike-vom-Mars who kindly shared multiple well designed and very useful hand gestures for free. I actually didn't do much to them except for adding some drill holes and refining the mesh. You'll need 2x M3 or M3.5 countersunk screws in order to attach it anywhere.

Also notice the plants! These pictures were taken in the span of a few months and that spider plant managed to almost completely turn from lush green into that sad remains of itself. Not even the green hand worked out. And they do that all the time... it's my 4th by now! If someone has any idea why Chlorophytum comosum instantly goes suicide as soon as I introduce it to my room, please share your wisdom in the comments section. Thank you.

Filament: Extrudr, Protopasta, Reprapper PETG, PLA green tranparent, magnetic iron, copper

Notes:

I printed my hands with a 0,8mm nozzle and 0,3-0,6mm layer height. Also see the attached cura screenshot for an uncommon slicing suggestion. This tilted approach made the fingers turn out better and use less tall support.

As for the materials, I guess anything reasonably stiff that gives good layer adhesion will work fine here. I used even some with rather bad properties such as protopasta iron PLA (+ months of soaking it in a rusting solution of hydrogen peroxide, salt water and vineagre), Reprapper copperfilled PLA and Extrudr PETG. The latter without infill but 3 walls.
