This is a remix of the Thingiverse “Universal spool drawer”. I also drew inspiration from the design in the remix section. I used Fusion 360 to make this, which means you will also need it to edit the parameters.
It has two versions in the same .f3d file: by setting debossWindow accordingly, you can carve a hole that can be covered with any kind of cardboard, to further save material (16%) and time (10%).
Parameters meaning and how to calculate them:
- Spool inner diameter: diameter of the core, not the hole in the spool. If your caliper can't reach across the core's diameter, you can measure the hole's diameter and add the wall thickness;
- Spool outer diameter: diameter of the outer part;
- Spool inner height: distance between the two walls of the spool (upper and lower walls)
- Drawer wall thickness: don't touch. It's automatically calculated (number of walls * nozzle size);
- Screw thread diameter: diameter of the screw thread you intend to use as a pole for the drawer to revolve around. If you want the drawer to be tight, I suggest you put in a more conservative value (depends on how calibrated your printer is);
- Screw post side: don't touch. Automatically calculated.
- Nozzle size: self explanatory;
- Window height: height of the window hole (not needed if debossWindow = 0);
- Window width: width of the window hole (not needed if debossWindow = 0);
- debossWindow: 0 = full wall, no window. 1 = carve window;
- debossHandle: 0 = no handle. 1 = carve handle;
- Wall count: self explanatory.
