Description
Through the cunning use of 3,5m filament, a ball bearing and a switch i bodged together a filament sensor that only a mother could love, the bearing is there to avoid the filament from abrading the wall to the point that the sensor doesn't trigger anymore
this design is meant to be mirrored to make a clamshell
BOM:
1x AVL34553 microswitch with lever and sleeved bearing, because POM bearings last longer than static metal
1x 623 bearing, shielded optional but when in rome
1x M3 nut, our budgetfriendly helicoil
1x M3x10mm bolt, because if you glue it together you need to open it again
2x 4mm teflon tube, to guide the filament
2x 4mm e style lockring, because they take less space than compression fittings
1x signal wire, i use 1,27mm pitch ribbon cable because i could reach the spool
a way to mount it to your gpio pins, be it a connector, solder or sheer willpower
