Description
Remixed the Mandalorian trailer ball cover to fit into a 2" receiver hitch since I don't like leaving my hitch in all the time.
Printed with gray PLA, and colored the middle in with a few coats of black sharpie, turned out pretty nice.
Printed it with the helmet facing up (flipped 180 degrees from 3D image shown) so could vary the layer height and save time. I used 0.2mm layer height up until the bottom surface of the helmet and then switched to 0.15mm layer height to make it look a bit nicer. I printed without ironing.
Unfortunately, it requires a good bit of support material. No support material required inside the receiver hitch portion.
Just printed it, will see how it holds up and I'll update if I have any problems with it.
***November 2023 Update***: model broke where the reciever meets the back of the Mandalorian helmet. Remove from vehicle before going through automatic carwashes (this is what broke mine), or a similar failure is likely to happen.
***August 2024*** Uploaded additional make files (originally designed in NX, see .zip), gcode I used, and prusaslicer file, and relinked the model I remixed
