Description
I printed this lithophane lamp: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2841252
It's great but the hole on the bottom was too large for the G9 socket I had for it so I designed this adapter.
I've printed it in PLA but any material should work. To mount the socket, thread the mains lead through the bottom hole in the adapter, solder/join the mains lead with the socket's wires and isolate them with heatshrink tubing or electrical tape. Pull the mains lead as much as possible whilst maintaining pressure in the hole, stuff the wires inside the adapter, screw the socket to the adapter using M3 screws.
At this point, you can just push the assembly from underneath the lamp. In my case it sat firmly in place but depending on your printer's dimensional accuracy it might be loose. If that's the case, there are a couple of M3 holes on the bottom of the adapter so you can screw it to the bottom of the lamp.
