UPDATE: - (20/12/22)

If these are printed upright the support comes off very easy but… They can snap off if you hit a curb hard because of the straight layer lines. To counteract this I suggest printing them on their side on a raft with all of the below instructions (apart from the skirt - use a raft instead). This prints layers at 45 degrees so it is almost impossible to break (I have had no problems with this). The only drawback is that the support is very hard to get off (sometimes) and may need sanding down afterwards for a better fit in the trolley and affixing to wheel - Test the swivel of the wheel and if it is too stiff it will need sanding down slightly where the wheel pushes on and maybe the use of 3-in-1 oil or equivalent.I designed this as a replacement for my Carlett Lett470 4 wheel Shopping Trolley.

My front wheel's kept falling off when lifting to mount a curb, so I re-designed the original axle and made my own stronger and better fitting model.

This should also fit the Lett430 and Lett460 Shopping Trollies.

Replacement Instructions:

  1. Press in the catch (2nd photo) under the wheel assembly and pull down the assembly to remove wheels.
  2. Undo the nut and bolt on the trolley leg (3rd photo) and keep to one side.
  3. Remove the old plastic axle (4th photo). You may need a hammer or grips to help wiggle it off.
  4. Push the new 3D printed axel in as far as it will go (The oval part will fit in either way around) so the round disc is touching the metal leg frame.
  5. Replace the nut and bolt and tighten.
  6. (optional) put the wheel assembly in a bowl of boiling water for 20 seconds (this will soften the catch). Carfully take it out without burning yourself. pull the catch towards the middle of the assembly as far as you can and hold it there whilst at the same time putting under a COLD tap. This will harden the catch and make it less likely for the wheels to fall off ever again.
  7. push the wheel assembly onto the axle until your hear a loud click (if necessary pull catch out to help it go on.
  8. Do the same with the other front wheel assembly so both are replaced.

Now your trolley should work properly and better than before.

Please Note: No oil is needed as the wheel will spin freely but you can use 3-in-1 oil or similar if you find it sticking to start with.

Printing Instructions:

You will need to print 2 of these (1 for each front wheel assembly).

I printed these on my Creality CR-6 SE printer with Cura slicer. (other printers/slicers can be used).
