Description
Produces two different sizes of candles. Molds should be resizable to your need (however not tested):
Small candle (80cm(h) x 40cm(d)):
Material required: ca. 85 gr of wax, 14cm string (ca. d=1,8mm). Colors and scents are optional.
Big candle (100cm(h) x 70cm(d)):
Material required: ca. 350 gr of wax, 16cm string (ca. d=2,0mm). Colors and scents are optional.
Generally if the string is too thick or too thinn the candle will burn too fast or too slow. Colors and scents were a bit trial-and-error to find the right mixture. Usually you find more information on the package instructions of the product.
Printed parts:
For both molds you need to print:
2x candle_lock.stl
2x XXX_candle.stl (1x with and 1x normal. Only difference is recess at the bottom to offer place for string. )
1x XXX_candle_top.stl
You can use the same candle_lock.stl for the small and big mold. In my experience it did not matter for the final results as long as the side locking parts are locking the bottom of the molds.
Print everything in either PLA or PETG (does not really matter) and without supports. Layer height 0.2 or even 0.3.
I am working on a mold with custom text support to engrave the candle. Will post as soon as possible when Im done. Also I am working on a mold for tealights. Will also post asap.
How to make candle:
P.S: Fresh wax (candles) will burn down quicker compared to stored candles. To achieve a longer lasting candle, the candle should be stored for around one year in a cold place. They can be stored in the basement, a fridge or even in the freezer.
