Description

REQUIRES 2 x 6201RS bearings.

Update 2021/05/31 - Updated the Threaded spool cone to allow a finger to fit in the holes, reducing those frustrating drops.

Update 2020/06 - Bolt broke where the head meets the shaft. I added a center hole all the way through for added strength.

I didn't have the right size bearing around for the original but I did have some 620IRS bearings.

This is a fully printed build with no need for metal bolts or nuts. The bolt is printed lying down for printing in a stronger orientation. I tried printing standing up but it would break on a layer line near the threads. I've been using this for a few months without issues.

Tolerances for my printer when printing threads are built into the STLs - 0.1 on either side of the thread for a total of 0.2.

It may work a little too well, the filament tends to unspool a little too much at times.

No supports needed when printed in the current orientation.

***UPDATE - bearing spool cone requires supports***

I used a brim on the threaded spindle because of the low surface area touching the build plate.
