Description
This is a new, improved version of my original vase-mode desiccant container. I changed the side holes to extend inward rather than outward, so the outer surface is much less likely to poke holes in your filament storage bags. Total print time is just over an hour and it uses just three meters (9g) of filament.
Note: this model MUST BE PRINTED IN VASE MODE. If you print it in normal mode, you're just going to get a solid cylinder.
This is a desiccant container designed to be printed in vase mode. It has a screw-top lid, which is very secure, that can be printed in the same print job as the container itself (on MK3).
Print settings:
Vase mode
0.3mm layer height
Use variable layer height or a modifier shape to have lower layer height on the threads. I cranked mine down to 0.15mm, which is the biggest layer height with which I could produce stable results on the threads.
The included gcode file is compiled for Overture PETG and it also works well with Hatchbox PETG. It may use higher temperatures than your brand wants, so I recommend starting from the .3mf file and using your own filament profile.
I recommend printing with transparent filament, so you can see the desiccant change color without having to open the container.
