Description
I have all kinds of those pesky carpenter bees flying around drilling holes into everything. I thought I would try to design up a trap like the ones people make out of wood. Mostly to see if I could and to see if a plastic design would even attract the bees. Currently my mother has this and is testing it out for me.
It takes just a standard coke bottle thread in the bottom.
Printed without supports but your mileage may vary. I designed it so that I wouldn't need any keeping in mind the limits of my printer. All the angles are 45 degrees and the loop is big enough that it isn't that big of a bridge gap at the top. I did this one in Overture white PETG.
You might be able to get away without any infill either but I was worried the lettering on the side wouldn't come out ok. If you just add enough walls it won't matter and you wont need any infill anyways. I wanted this first one to look nice to present and post online. I currently have a second version of this almost ready. I need to draw up a lid and print it. That one is designed hollow in fusion and therefore will require no infill and be a quicker less consuming print. It will also have a different mounting bracket but more on that when it come in the future.
