Sony WH-1000XM3 spacer ring upgrade

I got the sony noise canceling headphones months ago and they are great. The only down side is the fact that they start to be uncomfortable after an hour or two. After doing some research on the web, I found three main solutions people go for in most of the cases:

• Take out the inner foam part
• Eychange the genuine ear padswith larger ones
• Sell the heasphones and buy the new XM4s

Since I love my headphones and I dont want to by expensive ear pads nor am able to manifacture them on my own. I start thinking and came up with an idea. The main issue that they start urting is because your ears touch the foam inside.
My idea is simple, just extend the distance between pad and foam with a spacer. You can reuse the standard screws and the pads clip in place.
