Description
I picked up a used portable AC unit that had almost none of the original duct work. Rather than spend $80 on replacements, I reverse engineered the piece I had and designed these elbows to fit my application. Printed out of PETG at 100% infill, they were strong enough to work, but not as robust as the original parts. Only the 90° elbow required supports, but I did use a 2 layer thick large brim to help hold down the elbow pieces.
The two angles are very nice for routing the hoses neatly overtop of one another. I added an additional clearance for the detent that holds these so they can be rotated 90°. The duct work is for clockwise thread 5" AC vent tubing and threads into both ends without issue. The outside vents I put some stainless metal screen to prevent birds from making a home inside them and I also included a rain guard in my design. I'm not sure why all AC exhaust ducts don't have them.
I've included my Solidworks files as well as STEP files for anybody that wants to adjust anything to fit their application.
Photos are not great, but that's because I sold the AC unit as it was just too big and loud for use in my office.
