Description
Replacement part for the plastic outer flange plate (bolts onto the motor pulley) on many SIEG family mini lathes. Mine got melted into oblivion when the original belt failed. Or it could have been the other way around, but at any rate I ended up needing a new flange plate and a new belt from Little Machine Shop. The destroyed plate is shown in the second photo along with an early version of the replacement part.
This part attaches with all the original hardware and prints in about 10 minutes. Watch out for clearance from the bed frame. My Harbor Freight unit has the 750 Watt motor and it barely fits within the frame, and then only if the motor position is properly adjusted. I put the outer taper on the flange because it was so close to touching the frame, though it was barely OK without the taper.
I have a much more permanent solution on order in the form of some Maedler flanged steel pulleys, but these will need boring out to 8mm and to have keyways cut.
