Description
This is an inexpensive and lightweight reproduction of a George Hart sculpture. It is featured in e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceY94c8OXnU
My design is here https://youtu.be/PHNxkmwEzTs
The structure consists of 6 pentagons, made from a total of 30 equal parts.
The SVG files contain lasercutter templates for different sizes.
The template for 3mm EPP foam, results in a structure with ca. 54cm diameter.
The parts are joined by specially designed screws, suitable for 3D-Printing. As a very unusual screw design, the screw head is 5-sided, which snugly fits into the 5 sided cutouts in the joints. This allows to connect the parts in the correct 72° angles needed for the structure.
The STL files contain two sizes, for 3mm and for 6mm foam boards.
No glueing required, the structure can be easily disassembled for storage.
