Description

My wife has started making fairy gardens. She wanted me to print some things she could use for them. Since I had a dead birch tree in my yard that I was planning to cut down anyway, I decided to use a chunk of it make a gnome house for her. Now all we have to do is find (or print) some tiny flowers for the window boxes!

Here are the 3D printed parts (shingles, door, windows, steps, and shutters). The only other items I used were some pieces of wood to use as a base for the shingles, and a dowel that I notched for the ridgepole.

You can use any piece of log or maybe a stump to create your gnome house. Have fun!

Edit: Added picture of the final product after my wife got done making the gnome garden. Also she wanted a walkway or path so I made her one. It is added to the thing files.

Edit 11/16/2018: This version is just the door, windows, shingles, etc to attach to a log or stump. If you want a completely printable version, see my Gnome House Revisited https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3212203

Category: Art Print Settings

Printer: Flashforge Creator Pro

Rafts: No

Supports: Yes

Resolution: .2mm

Infill: 15%

Notes:

The shingles are strips that are 1mm thick. You can cut them with scissors to make the roof as big as you like. There are two files, whole shingles that start and end with whole shingles, and half shingles that start and end with half shingles. I just filled my build space with as many of each as could. It took a couple of builds to get enough for the roof, but they print very fast.
